PARK USER FEE COLLECTION HAS CHANGED! NO LONGER WILL IT BE CHARGED TO YOU WHEN YOU BOOK YOUR TRIP. ALL ADULT PASSENGERS, THE NPS CONSIDERS ANYONE OVER THE AGE OF 11 AN ADULT, ARE REQUIRED TO PAY A USER FEE TO THE PARK. YOU WILL NOW NEED TO CALCULATE YOUR USER FEE, $4 PER DAY PER PERSON INCLUDING ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE DAYS, AND HAVE IT READY FOR COLLECTION BY A CREW MEMBER ONCE THE BOAT IS ON IT'S WAY TO THE ISLAND. PAYMENT WILL BE CASH OR MONEY ORDER ONLY. EACH PERSON WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN USER FEE UNLESS YOU ARE IN A GROUP, ie. BOY SCOUTS, SUMMER CAMP ETC. HAVING ONE OF THE MANY NPS PASSES DOESN'T EXEMPT YOU FROM THE USER FEE, THEY ONLY COVER ENTRANCE FEES, NOT USER FEES. THE ONLY PARK ISSUED PASS THAT COVERS ISLE ROYALE'S USER FEE IS THE "ISLE ROYALE SEASON PASS", THIS YEARLY PASS IS AVAILABLE ONLY THROUGH ISLE ROYALE NATIONAL PARK HEAQUARTERS IN HOUGHTON, MI OR VISITOR CENTERS ON THE ISLAND.

 THE SCHEDULES AND RATES FOR 2012 ARE POSTED, HOWEVER, RESERVATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE! THE EARLY SEASON RESERVATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON LINE ONLY UNTIL EARLY TO MID MARCH.  THE SEA HUNTER III BEGAN SERVICE IN THE 2011 SEASON. IT HAS REPLACED THE WENONAH AND HAS ASSUMED SERVICE TO AND FROM WINDIGO INCLUDING DAY TRIPS. THE SEA HUNTER IS FAST, 1.5 HOURS EACH WAY INCLUDING SIGHTSEEING STOPS AND 4 HOURS TO EXPLORE THE ISLAND. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN KNOWN HISTORY DAY VISITORS WILL HAVE MORE TIME ON THE ISLAND THAN ON THE BOAT.

Click on the link "Book Online" on this website to book your trip, unless you are travelling only one way, you must make a round trip reservation with beginning and ending dates and pickup/drop-off points. If you are riding the Sea Hunter you must choose the "camper" fare unless you are taking the day trip. CHILD FARES CAN ONLY BE SELECTED FOR PASSENGERS LESS THAN 12 YEARS OLD. If you are making multiple legs including an inter-island ride, for example, your trip is beginning in Grand Portage and you are going to Chippewa Harbor with a layover in Rock Harbor you will have to make a round trip plus a one-way for each inter-island ride.

If you are bringing a canoe, kayak or extra freight, remember, you must add these things to each of your rides that you will have them on the boats. THE WEIGHT LIMIT FOR GEAR IS 40# PER PERSON AND WE MUST ENFORCE THIS LIMIT, PLEASE MAKE SURE IF YOU WILL BE OVER TO ADD EXTRA FREIGHT FOR YOUR GROUP. All reservations must be paid in full to be confirmed, use a Visa or Mastercard payment to complete the transaction and print it for your ticket.
